Ingredients
- Phyllo dough - 6 sheets
- Hazelnuts - 100 grams, finely chopped
- Butter - 50 grams, melted
- Greek yogurt - 100 grams
- Honey - 30 grams
- Sugar - 20 grams
- Cinnamon - 1 teaspoon
- Water - 100 ml
- Vanilla extract - 1/2 teaspoon
Steps
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
- In a bowl, combine the finely chopped hazelnuts, cinnamon, honey, and Greek yogurt until well mixed.
- On a clean surface, lay out one sheet of phyllo dough and brush it with melted butter. Repeat the process with 3 more sheets, stacking them on top of each other.
- Spread half of the hazelnut mixture evenly over the layered phyllo dough.
- Layer 2 more sheets of phyllo dough, brushing each with melted butter, and then add the remaining hazelnut mixture on top.
- Cover the filling with the last remaining phyllo sheet, brushing the top with butter again.
- Using a sharp knife, cut the baklava into diamond shapes.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.
- While the baklava is baking, prepare the syrup by boiling water and sugar together for about 5 minutes, then adding vanilla extract.
- Once the baklava is done, remove it from the oven and pour the hot syrup evenly over the baklava.
- Allow it to cool for at least 15 minutes before serving.
