Ingredients

  • Chicken breast - 300 grams
  • Greek yogurt - 150 grams
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Paprika - 1 tablespoon
  • Cumin - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Pita bread - 2 pieces
  • Tomato - 1 medium, sliced
  • Cucumber - 1 medium, sliced
  • Red onion - 1/2 medium, thinly sliced
  • Lettuce - 1 cup, shredded
  • Lemon - 1, cut into wedges

Steps

  1. In a bowl, combine Greek yogurt, olive oil, minced garlic, paprika, cumin, salt, and black pepper to create a marinade.
  2. Cut the chicken breast into thin strips and add them to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or overnight for best flavor.
  3. Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium heat. Remove the chicken from the marinade and grill for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked and golden brown.
  4. While the chicken is grilling, prepare the pita bread by warming it on the grill for 1-2 minutes on each side.
  5. Once the chicken is cooked, remove it from the grill and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing it into smaller pieces.
  6. Assemble the Döner Kebap by placing a portion of grilled chicken into each pita bread. Top with sliced tomato, cucumber, red onion, and shredded lettuce.
  7. Serve with lemon wedges on the side for squeezing over the kebabs.
