Ingredients
- Chicken breast - 300 grams
- Greek yogurt - 150 grams
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Paprika - 1 tablespoon
- Cumin - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Pita bread - 2 pieces
- Tomato - 1 medium, sliced
- Cucumber - 1 medium, sliced
- Red onion - 1/2 medium, thinly sliced
- Lettuce - 1 cup, shredded
- Lemon - 1, cut into wedges
Steps
- In a bowl, combine Greek yogurt, olive oil, minced garlic, paprika, cumin, salt, and black pepper to create a marinade.
- Cut the chicken breast into thin strips and add them to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or overnight for best flavor.
- Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium heat. Remove the chicken from the marinade and grill for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked and golden brown.
- While the chicken is grilling, prepare the pita bread by warming it on the grill for 1-2 minutes on each side.
- Once the chicken is cooked, remove it from the grill and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing it into smaller pieces.
- Assemble the Döner Kebap by placing a portion of grilled chicken into each pita bread. Top with sliced tomato, cucumber, red onion, and shredded lettuce.
- Serve with lemon wedges on the side for squeezing over the kebabs.
