Ingredients
- Ground lamb - 250 grams
- Ground beef - 250 grams
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Onion - 1 small, finely chopped
- Cumin - 1 teaspoon
- Paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Burger buns - 2
- Lettuce - 2 leaves
- Tomato - 1 medium, sliced
- Cucumber - 1 small, sliced
- Red onion - 1/2 small, sliced
- Yogurt - 100 grams
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
- Fresh mint - 1 tablespoon, chopped
Steps
- In a large bowl, combine the ground lamb, ground beef, minced garlic, chopped onion, cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.
- Form the mixture into two patties, ensuring they are slightly larger than the burger buns as they will shrink while cooking.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the patties and cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until they reach an internal temperature of 70°C (160°F) and are nicely browned.
- While the patties are cooking, prepare the yogurt sauce by mixing yogurt, lemon juice, and chopped mint in a small bowl. Set aside.
- Toast the burger buns lightly on a separate skillet or grill until golden brown.
- Assemble the burgers: place a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun, followed by the cooked patty, sliced tomatoes, cucumbers, and red onions. Drizzle the yogurt sauce over the top and finish with the top half of the burger bun.
- Serve immediately with your choice of sides.
