- Sardines - 400 grams, cleaned and gutted
- Red bell pepper - 1 medium, finely chopped
- Green bell pepper - 1 medium, finely chopped
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Olive oil - 3 tablespoons
- Red pepper flakes - 1 teaspoon
- Paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
- Salt - to taste
- Black pepper - to taste
- Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped (for garnish)
Steps
- In a bowl, combine the chopped red and green bell peppers, minced garlic, olive oil, red pepper flakes, paprika, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper to create the marinade.
- Add the cleaned sardines to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Let them marinate for at least 15 minutes to absorb the flavors.
- Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
- Once the grill is hot, place the marinated sardines on it. Grill for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until the fish is cooked through and has nice grill marks.
- Remove the sardines from the grill and let them rest for a couple of minutes.
- Serve the grilled sardines garnished with fresh parsley and additional lemon wedges on the side.
