Ingredients

  • Red bell peppers - 2 large
  • Green bell peppers - 1 large
  • Garlic - 2 cloves
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Red pepper flakes - 1/2 teaspoon (optional)

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. Wash the red and green bell peppers, then cut them in half and remove the seeds.
  3. Place the peppers on a baking tray, cut side down, and roast in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes or until the skins are charred.
  4. Once roasted, remove the peppers from the oven and let them cool for about 5 minutes before peeling off the charred skin.
  5. Finely chop the peeled peppers and place them in a mixing bowl.
  6. Mince the garlic cloves and add them to the bowl with the chopped peppers.
  7. Add olive oil, lemon juice, chopped parsley, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using) to the bowl.
  8. Mix all the ingredients thoroughly until well combined.
  9. Serve the Biber Salatası on a plate, drizzled with a little extra olive oil if desired.
