Ingredients

  • Yufka (Turkish pastry sheets) - 4 sheets
  • Olive oil - 4 tablespoons
  • Ground beef or lamb - 200 grams
  • Onion - 1 medium, finely chopped
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Tomato paste - 2 tablespoons
  • Green bell pepper - 1, diced
  • Cherry tomatoes - 100 grams, halved
  • Black olives - 50 grams, sliced
  • Feta cheese - 100 grams, crumbled
  • Mozzarella cheese - 100 grams, shredded
  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. In a skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, sautéing until translucent.
  3. Add the ground beef or lamb to the skillet, cooking until browned. Stir in the tomato paste, diced green bell pepper, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Cook for an additional 5 minutes, then remove from heat.
  4. On a clean surface, lay one sheet of yufka and brush it lightly with olive oil. Place another sheet on top and brush again. Repeat until you have 2 layers.
  5. Spread half of the meat mixture evenly over the yufka layers.
  6. Sprinkle half of the cherry tomatoes, black olives, feta cheese, and mozzarella cheese over the meat mixture.
  7. Fold the edges of the yufka over the filling to create a sealed pizza shape. Repeat the process for the second pizza.
  8. Place both börek pizzas on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush the tops with the remaining olive oil.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the pastry is golden and crispy.
  10. Remove from the oven and sprinkle with fresh parsley before slicing and serving.
