- Ground lamb - 300 grams
- Ground beef - 100 grams
- Onion - 1 medium, finely grated
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Red bell pepper - 1, finely chopped
- Paprika - 1 tablespoon
- Cumin - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Red pepper flakes - 1 teaspoon (adjust to taste)
- Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Skewers - 2 (if using wooden skewers, soak in water for 30 minutes)
Steps
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground lamb and beef, grated onion, minced garlic, chopped red bell pepper, paprika, cumin, salt, black pepper, red pepper flakes, and chopped parsley.
- Mix the ingredients thoroughly using your hands until well combined.
- Divide the meat mixture into two equal portions and mold each portion onto a skewer, forming long, flat kebabs.
- Preheat your grill or grill pan over medium-high heat and brush it lightly with olive oil.
- Place the skewers on the grill and cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until the meat is browned and cooked through.
- Remove the kebabs from the grill and let them rest for a couple of minutes before serving.
- Serve the Adana Kebab with warm flatbread, sliced onions, tomatoes, and a side of yogurt or salad.
