Ingredients

  • Ground lamb - 300 grams
  • Ground beef - 100 grams
  • Onion - 1 medium, finely grated
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Red bell pepper - 1, finely chopped
  • Paprika - 1 tablespoon
  • Cumin - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Red pepper flakes - 1 teaspoon (adjust to taste)
  • Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Skewers - 2 (if using wooden skewers, soak in water for 30 minutes)

Steps

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground lamb and beef, grated onion, minced garlic, chopped red bell pepper, paprika, cumin, salt, black pepper, red pepper flakes, and chopped parsley.
  2. Mix the ingredients thoroughly using your hands until well combined.
  3. Divide the meat mixture into two equal portions and mold each portion onto a skewer, forming long, flat kebabs.
  4. Preheat your grill or grill pan over medium-high heat and brush it lightly with olive oil.
  5. Place the skewers on the grill and cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until the meat is browned and cooked through.
  6. Remove the kebabs from the grill and let them rest for a couple of minutes before serving.
  7. Serve the Adana Kebab with warm flatbread, sliced onions, tomatoes, and a side of yogurt or salad.
