Ingredients

  • Ground lamb - 250 grams
  • Ground beef - 250 grams
  • Onion - 1 medium, finely chopped
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Red pepper flakes - 1 teaspoon
  • Cumin - 1 teaspoon
  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Pita bread or burger buns - 2 pieces
  • Tomato - 1 medium, sliced
  • Cucumber - 1 small, sliced
  • Lettuce leaves - 2 pieces
  • Yogurt - 100 grams (for serving)

Steps

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the ground lamb, ground beef, finely chopped onion, minced garlic, red pepper flakes, cumin, paprika, salt, black pepper, and chopped parsley until well combined.
  2. Divide the meat mixture into two equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, about 2 cm thick.
  3. Preheat a grill or a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 6-7 minutes on each side or until they reach your desired level of doneness.
  4. While the patties are cooking, prepare the pita bread or burger buns by lightly toasting them on the grill or in a toaster.
  5. Once the patties are done, assemble the burgers by placing a patty on each bun, then adding sliced tomato, cucumber, and lettuce leaves.
  6. Serve the Adana Burgers with a dollop of yogurt on the side.
