- Water - 1 liter
- Wheat (bulgur or cracked) - 50 grams
- Chickpeas (cooked) - 50 grams
- Lentils (cooked) - 50 grams
- Rice - 50 grams
- Dried figs - 30 grams, chopped
- Dried apricots - 30 grams, chopped
- Walnuts - 30 grams, chopped
- Cinnamon - 1 teaspoon
- Sugar - 50 grams
- Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
- Pomegranate seeds - for garnish
- Mint leaves - for garnish
Steps
- In a large pot, bring 1 liter of water to a boil.
- Add the bulgur, rice, chickpeas, and lentils to the boiling water. Reduce heat and let simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Add the chopped dried figs, dried apricots, sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla extract to the pot. Stir well and cook for an additional 15 minutes until everything is soft and combined.
- Remove from heat and let the mixture cool slightly before serving.
- Serve the aşure in bowls, garnished with chopped walnuts, pomegranate seeds, and fresh mint leaves.
