Ingredients

  • Water - 1 liter
  • Wheat (bulgur or cracked) - 50 grams
  • Chickpeas (cooked) - 50 grams
  • Lentils (cooked) - 50 grams
  • Rice - 50 grams
  • Dried figs - 30 grams, chopped
  • Dried apricots - 30 grams, chopped
  • Walnuts - 30 grams, chopped
  • Cinnamon - 1 teaspoon
  • Sugar - 50 grams
  • Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
  • Pomegranate seeds - for garnish
  • Mint leaves - for garnish

Steps

  1. In a large pot, bring 1 liter of water to a boil.
  2. Add the bulgur, rice, chickpeas, and lentils to the boiling water. Reduce heat and let simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Add the chopped dried figs, dried apricots, sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla extract to the pot. Stir well and cook for an additional 15 minutes until everything is soft and combined.
  4. Remove from heat and let the mixture cool slightly before serving.
  5. Serve the aşure in bowls, garnished with chopped walnuts, pomegranate seeds, and fresh mint leaves.
