Ingredients
- Ground beef - 300 grams
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Fresh ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
- Fish sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
- Cumin powder - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Lime juice - 1 tablespoon
- Coconut oil - 1 tablespoon (for cooking)
- Romaine lettuce leaves - 4 (for serving)
- Mango - 1 medium, diced
- Red onion - 1/4 cup, finely chopped
- Cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Chili flakes - 1/2 teaspoon (optional)
- Salt - to taste
Steps
- In a bowl, combine the ground beef, minced garlic, grated ginger, fish sauce, coriander powder, cumin powder, black pepper, and lime juice. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
- Form the mixture into two equal-sized patties, about 1.5 cm thick.
- Heat coconut oil in a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the patties and cook for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.
- While the patties are cooking, prepare the mango salsa by combining diced mango, red onion, cilantro, chili flakes (if using), and a pinch of salt in a bowl. Mix gently and set aside.
- Once the patties are cooked, remove them from the skillet and let them rest for a couple of minutes.
- To serve, place each patty on a romaine lettuce leaf and top with a generous spoonful of mango salsa. Wrap the lettuce around the burger to enjoy.
