Ingredients

  • beef sirloin - 200 grams
  • lime juice - 2 tablespoons
  • fish sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • sugar - 1 teaspoon
  • garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • chili flakes - 1 teaspoon
  • cucumber - 1 medium, thinly sliced
  • cherry tomatoes - 100 grams, halved
  • red onion - 1 small, thinly sliced
  • fresh cilantro - 20 grams, chopped
  • fresh mint - 20 grams, chopped
  • mixed salad greens - 2 cups

Steps

  1. Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
  2. Season the beef sirloin with salt and pepper, then grill for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until cooked to your preference.
  3. Remove the beef from the grill and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing it thinly against the grain.
  4. In a bowl, whisk together lime juice, fish sauce, sugar, minced garlic, and chili flakes to create the dressing.
  5. In a large mixing bowl, combine the sliced beef, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, red onion, cilantro, and mint.
  6. Pour the dressing over the salad and toss everything together gently.
  7. Serve the Yam Nua on a bed of mixed salad greens.
