Ingredients

  • Beef sirloin - 250 grams
  • Lime juice - 3 tablespoons
  • Fish sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Palm sugar - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Shallots - 2, thinly sliced
  • Cucumber - 1/2, sliced
  • Cherry tomatoes - 100 grams, halved
  • Fresh cilantro - 1/4 cup, chopped
  • Fresh mint - 1/4 cup, chopped
  • Thai chili - 1, finely chopped (optional)
  • Lettuce leaves - for serving

Steps

  1. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  2. In a small bowl, combine lime juice, fish sauce, palm sugar, and minced garlic to create the dressing. Stir well until the sugar is dissolved.
  3. Season the beef sirloin with salt and pepper, then grill for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium rare, or until your desired doneness.
  4. Remove the beef from the grill and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing it thinly against the grain.
  5. In a large mixing bowl, combine the sliced beef, shallots, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, cilantro, mint, and Thai chili if using.
  6. Pour the dressing over the salad and toss gently to combine all the ingredients.
  7. Serve the salad on a bed of lettuce leaves and enjoy it fresh.
