- Thai bird's eye chili - 2, finely chopped (adjust to taste)
- Tofu - 200 grams, firm, diced
- Red bell pepper - 1, sliced
- Green beans - 100 grams, trimmed and cut into 2 cm pieces
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Oyster sauce (vegetarian) - 1 tablespoon
- Sugar - 1 teaspoon
- Fresh Thai basil leaves - 1 cup, packed
- Cooked jasmine rice - 2 cups, for serving
Steps
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large pan or wok over medium-high heat.
- Add the minced garlic and chopped bird's eye chili, and stir-fry for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add the diced tofu to the pan and cook for about 5 minutes until golden brown on all sides.
- Stir in the sliced red bell pepper and green beans, cooking for an additional 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender but still crisp.
- In a small bowl, mix the soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sugar, then pour the sauce over the stir-fried tofu and vegetables.
- Toss everything together to ensure even coating and cook for another 2 minutes.
- Remove from heat and fold in the fresh Thai basil leaves until just wilted.
- Serve hot over a bed of jasmine rice.
