Ingredients

  • Firm tofu - 300 grams
  • Green beans - 50 grams, finely chopped
  • Red curry paste - 2 tablespoons
  • Lemongrass - 1 stalk, finely minced
  • Kaffir lime leaves - 2 leaves, finely chopped
  • Fresh cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Cornstarch - 2 tablespoons
  • Rice flour - 3 tablespoons
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Vegetable oil - for frying
  • Cucumber - 1/2, sliced (for serving)
  • Sweet chili sauce - for dipping

Steps

  1. Press the firm tofu to remove excess water for about 15 minutes, then crumble it into a large mixing bowl.
  2. Add the finely chopped green beans, red curry paste, minced lemongrass, chopped kaffir lime leaves, and chopped cilantro to the crumbled tofu.
  3. Sprinkle in the cornstarch, rice flour, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.
  4. Shape the mixture into small patties, about 5 cm in diameter and 1 cm thick.
  5. Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Once hot, carefully place the patties in the pan, being sure not to overcrowd them.
  6. Fry the patties for 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy. Remove and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.
  7. Serve warm with sliced cucumber and sweet chili sauce for dipping.
