- Ground pork - 300 grams
- Coconut flour - 2 tablespoons
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Shallots - 1 small, finely chopped
- Red chili flakes - 1/2 teaspoon
- Fish sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Lime juice - 1 tablespoon
- Fresh cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Fresh basil - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Egg - 1 large
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Coconut oil - 2 tablespoons (for frying)
Steps
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground pork, coconut flour, minced garlic, chopped shallots, red chili flakes, fish sauce, lime juice, chopped cilantro, chopped basil, egg, salt, and black pepper.
- Mix the ingredients thoroughly until well combined. You can use your hands for better incorporation.
- Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, about 1.5 cm thick.
- Heat the coconut oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the patties to the skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and cooked through.
- Once cooked, remove the patties from the skillet and let them rest on a plate lined with paper towels to absorb excess oil.
- Serve warm, garnished with additional fresh herbs or lime wedges if desired.
