- Fresh cilantro - 30 grams, chopped
- Fresh mint - 15 grams, chopped
- Green onions - 2, finely chopped
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Thai red curry paste - 1 tablespoon
- Fish sauce - 1 teaspoon
- Lime juice - 1 tablespoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Whole wheat burger buns - 2
- Romaine lettuce - 2 leaves
- Mango - 1 small, diced
- Red bell pepper - 1/2, diced
- Cilantro - 15 grams, additional for salsa
- Lime juice - 1 tablespoon, additional for salsa
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine ground turkey, chopped cilantro, mint, green onions, minced garlic, red curry paste, fish sauce, lime juice, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Form the mixture into 2 equal patties, approximately 1.5 cm thick.
- Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and lightly grease it with cooking oil. Cook the patties for about 5-6 minutes on each side or until they reach an internal temperature of 75°C.
- While the turkey burgers are cooking, prepare the mango salsa by combining diced mango, red bell pepper, additional chopped cilantro, and lime juice in a small bowl. Mix well and set aside.
- Once the patties are cooked, toast the whole wheat burger buns in the skillet for 1-2 minutes until golden brown.
- Assemble the burgers by placing a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun, followed by the turkey patty and a generous scoop of mango salsa. Top with the other half of the bun and serve immediately.
