Ingredients
- Whole fish (e.g., tilapia or snapper) - 400 grams
- Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
- Fresh cilantro - 30 grams, chopped
- Lime - 1, juiced
- Fish sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Chili flakes - 1 teaspoon
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Lime wedges - for serving
Steps
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
- In a small bowl, combine minced garlic, chopped cilantro, lime juice, fish sauce, chili flakes, olive oil, salt, and black pepper to create a marinade.
- Clean and gut the fish if necessary, then score the sides of the fish with a sharp knife to allow the marinade to penetrate.
- Rub the marinade generously all over the fish, including inside the cavity. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
- Place the marinated fish on the preheated grill. Grill for about 8-10 minutes on each side, or until the fish is cooked through and has nice grill marks.
- Remove the fish from the grill and let it rest for a few minutes before serving.
- Serve the grilled fish with lime wedges on the side.
