- tempeh - 250 grams
- soy sauce - 3 tablespoons
- maple syrup - 2 tablespoons
- lime juice - 1 tablespoon
- garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
- red chili flakes - 1 teaspoon
- peanut oil - 1 tablespoon
- fresh cilantro - for garnish
- lime wedges - for serving
Steps
- Cut the tempeh into 1-cm thick slices and steam for 10 minutes to soften.
- In a bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, maple syrup, lime juice, minced garlic, grated ginger, and red chili flakes to create the marinade.
- Place the steamed tempeh slices in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them, making sure all pieces are well-coated. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
- Heat a grill pan or outdoor grill over medium heat and brush with peanut oil.
- Grill the marinated tempeh slices for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they are nicely charred and heated through.
- Remove from the grill and let cool slightly before serving.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve with lime wedges on the side.
