  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons (30ml)
  • Lime juice - 1 tablespoon (15ml)
  • Brown sugar - 1 tablespoon (15g)
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Red chili flakes - 1 teaspoon (or to taste)
  • Coconut milk - 1/4 cup (60ml)
  • Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons (30ml)
  • Fresh cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped (for garnish)
  • Peanuts - 2 tablespoons, crushed (for garnish)

Steps

  1. Preheat your grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
  2. Remove the leaves and stem from the cauliflower, then cut it into thick slices or 'steaks'.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, lime juice, brown sugar, minced garlic, red chili flakes, and coconut milk to create a marinade.
  4. Brush the marinade generously on both sides of the cauliflower slices.
  5. Let the cauliflower marinate for about 10 minutes to absorb the flavors.
  6. Brush the grill grates with vegetable oil to prevent sticking.
  7. Place the marinated cauliflower on the grill and cook for 5-7 minutes on each side, or until tender and charred.
  8. Once cooked, remove from the grill and let it rest for a couple of minutes.
  9. Garnish with chopped cilantro and crushed peanuts before serving.
