- Rice paper wrappers - 4 sheets
- Fresh Thai basil leaves - 20 leaves
- Carrot - 1 medium, julienned
- Cucumber - 1 small, julienned
- Red bell pepper - 1/2, julienned
- Avocado - 1/2, sliced
- Lettuce leaves - 4 small leaves
- Chopped cilantro - 2 tablespoons
- Lime juice - 1 tablespoon
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
Steps
- Prepare all the vegetables by washing, peeling, and cutting them into thin strips or slices as indicated.
- Fill a shallow dish with warm water and soak one rice paper wrapper for about 10-15 seconds until it becomes pliable.
- Lay the soaked rice paper wrapper on a clean, flat surface.
- Place 5-6 Thai basil leaves in the center of the wrapper, followed by a small handful of each of the julienned carrot, cucumber, red bell pepper, and a few slices of avocado.
- Add a small piece of lettuce and a sprinkle of chopped cilantro on top.
- Fold the bottom of the wrapper over the filling, then fold in the sides and roll tightly to enclose the filling completely. Repeat this process for the remaining wrappers.
- In a small bowl, mix lime juice, soy sauce, and sesame oil to create a dipping sauce.
- Serve the rolls with the dipping sauce on the side.
