Ingredients

  • Taro - 150 grams, peeled and diced
  • Coconut milk - 200 ml
  • Coconut sugar - 50 grams
  • Cornstarch - 2 tablespoons
  • Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - a pinch
  • Water - 200 ml

Steps

  1. Steam the diced taro for about 15 minutes until soft, then let it cool slightly.
  2. In a blender, combine the steamed taro, coconut milk, coconut sugar, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Blend until smooth.
  3. In a saucepan, mix the cornstarch with 200 ml of water to create a slurry. Heat over medium heat while stirring until it thickens.
  4. Gradually add the taro mixture to the thickened cornstarch mixture, stirring continuously until well combined and smooth.
  5. Pour the mixture into serving bowls or molds. Let it cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours until set.
  6. Serve chilled, optionally garnished with toasted coconut flakes or fresh fruit.
