Ingredients

  • Firm tofu - 300 grams
  • Cornstarch - 50 grams
  • Vegetable oil - for frying
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Soy sauce - 30 ml
  • Lime juice - 15 ml
  • Chili sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Fresh cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Cucumber - 50 grams, sliced for garnish

Steps

  1. Press the tofu for 15 minutes to remove excess moisture, then cut it into bite-sized cubes.
  2. In a bowl, coat the tofu cubes with cornstarch evenly.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the tofu cubes in batches and fry until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes on each side.
  4. Remove the fried tofu and place it on paper towels to drain excess oil.
  5. In a small bowl, mix together minced garlic, soy sauce, lime juice, and chili sauce to create the dipping sauce.
  6. Serve the crispy tofu hot with the dipping sauce, garnished with chopped cilantro and cucumber slices.
