- Firm tofu - 300 grams
- Cornstarch - 50 grams
- Vegetable oil - for frying
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Soy sauce - 30 ml
- Lime juice - 15 ml
- Chili sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Fresh cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Cucumber - 50 grams, sliced for garnish
Steps
- Press the tofu for 15 minutes to remove excess moisture, then cut it into bite-sized cubes.
- In a bowl, coat the tofu cubes with cornstarch evenly.
- Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the tofu cubes in batches and fry until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes on each side.
- Remove the fried tofu and place it on paper towels to drain excess oil.
- In a small bowl, mix together minced garlic, soy sauce, lime juice, and chili sauce to create the dipping sauce.
- Serve the crispy tofu hot with the dipping sauce, garnished with chopped cilantro and cucumber slices.
