Ingredients
- Glutinous rice - 150 grams
- Coconut milk - 150 ml
- Sugar - 30 grams
- Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
- Sesame seeds (optional) - 1 tablespoon
- Mango (ripe) - 1 medium
Steps
- Rinse the glutinous rice under cold water until the water runs clear, then soak it in water for at least 4 hours or overnight.
- Drain the soaked rice and place it in a steamer lined with cheesecloth or a fine mesh. Steam the rice for about 30 minutes, or until it becomes translucent and sticky.
- In a saucepan, combine the coconut milk, sugar, and salt. Heat gently until the sugar dissolves, but do not let it boil.
- Once the rice is cooked, transfer it to a mixing bowl and pour about 100 ml of the coconut sauce over it. Stir gently to combine and let it sit for about 10 minutes to absorb the flavors.
- Serve the sticky rice on a plate, topped with sliced mango and drizzled with the remaining coconut sauce. Optionally, sprinkle sesame seeds on top for added texture.
