Ingredients

  • Ground turkey or chicken - 300 grams
  • Sriracha sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 tablespoon, grated
  • Cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Lime juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Whole wheat burger buns - 2
  • Avocado - 1, sliced
  • Cucumber - 1/2, thinly sliced
  • Red onion - 1/2, thinly sliced
  • Lettuce leaves - 2

Steps

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground turkey or chicken, Sriracha sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, chopped cilantro, lime juice, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are incorporated.
  2. Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into burger patties.
  3. Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 6-7 minutes on each side or until fully cooked and internal temperature reaches 75°C (165°F).
  4. While the burgers are cooking, prepare the toppings by slicing the avocado, cucumber, and red onion.
  5. Once the burgers are cooked, assemble them on the whole wheat buns with lettuce, avocado, cucumber, and red onion.
  6. Drizzle a little more Sriracha sauce on top if desired, and serve immediately.
