- Tamarind paste - 2 tablespoons
- Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Brown sugar - 1 tablespoon
- Fresh lime juice - 1 tablespoon
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Red chili flakes - 1 teaspoon
- Ground cumin - 1/2 teaspoon
- Ground coriander - 1/2 teaspoon
- Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
- Fresh cilantro - for garnish
- Salt - to taste
Steps
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
- Remove the leaves and stem from the cauliflower, then cut it into thick steaks (about 2.5 cm each).
- In a bowl, mix tamarind paste, soy sauce, brown sugar, lime juice, minced garlic, red chili flakes, ground cumin, ground coriander, vegetable oil, and salt to create a marinade.
- Brush the cauliflower steaks generously with the marinade on both sides and let them sit for 10-15 minutes to absorb the flavors.
- Once the grill is hot, place the marinated cauliflower steaks on it and cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side until they are tender and have nice grill marks.
- Remove from the grill and let them rest for a couple of minutes before serving.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve with lime wedges if desired.
