- Red chili - 1 small, finely chopped
- Fish sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Lime juice - 1 tablespoon
- Coriander leaves - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Papaya - 150 grams, shredded
- Carrot - 50 grams, shredded
- Cabbage - 50 grams, shredded
- Rice vinegar - 1 tablespoon
- Honey - 1 teaspoon
- Whole wheat burger buns - 2
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
Steps
- In a bowl, combine ground chicken, minced garlic, grated ginger, chopped red chili, fish sauce, lime juice, coriander leaves, salt, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly until well combined.
- Form the mixture into two patties and set aside.
- In another bowl, mix shredded papaya, carrot, cabbage, rice vinegar, and honey to create the slaw. Toss well and set aside to marinate for 10 minutes.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the chicken patties for about 5-6 minutes per side or until they are cooked through and golden brown.
- While the patties are cooking, lightly toast the burger buns in a separate pan until golden.
- Assemble the burgers by placing a chicken patty on each bun, topping with the papaya slaw, and closing with the other half of the bun.
- Serve immediately with a lime wedge on the side.
