- Firm tofu - 300 grams
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Lime juice - 1 tablespoon
- Brown sugar - 1 tablespoon
- Ground coriander - 1 teaspoon
- Ground cumin - 1 teaspoon
- Garlic powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Ground black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Peanut butter - 3 tablespoons
- Coconut milk - 2 tablespoons
- Chili sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Fresh cilantro - for garnish
- Wooden skewers - 4 (soaked in water for 30 minutes)
Steps
- Press the tofu for 15 minutes to remove excess moisture, then cut it into 2 cm cubes.
- In a mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, lime juice, brown sugar, ground coriander, ground cumin, garlic powder, and black pepper to create the marinade.
- Add the cubed tofu to the marinade, tossing gently to coat, and let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
- Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium heat and brush it with sesame oil.
- Thread the marinated tofu cubes onto the soaked wooden skewers.
- Grill the skewers for 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally until the tofu is golden and slightly charred.
- While the tofu is grilling, prepare the peanut dipping sauce by mixing peanut butter, coconut milk, and chili sauce in a small bowl until smooth.
- Serve the grilled satay tofu skewers hot with the peanut dipping sauce and garnish with fresh cilantro.
