Ingredients

  • Firm tofu - 300 grams
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Lime juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Brown sugar - 1 tablespoon
  • Ground coriander - 1 teaspoon
  • Ground cumin - 1 teaspoon
  • Garlic powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Ground black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Peanut butter - 3 tablespoons
  • Coconut milk - 2 tablespoons
  • Chili sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Fresh cilantro - for garnish
  • Wooden skewers - 4 (soaked in water for 30 minutes)

Steps

  1. Press the tofu for 15 minutes to remove excess moisture, then cut it into 2 cm cubes.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, lime juice, brown sugar, ground coriander, ground cumin, garlic powder, and black pepper to create the marinade.
  3. Add the cubed tofu to the marinade, tossing gently to coat, and let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  4. Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium heat and brush it with sesame oil.
  5. Thread the marinated tofu cubes onto the soaked wooden skewers.
  6. Grill the skewers for 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally until the tofu is golden and slightly charred.
  7. While the tofu is grilling, prepare the peanut dipping sauce by mixing peanut butter, coconut milk, and chili sauce in a small bowl until smooth.
  8. Serve the grilled satay tofu skewers hot with the peanut dipping sauce and garnish with fresh cilantro.
