Ingredients
- Whole fish (such as tilapia or snapper) - 300 grams
- Lime juice - 2 tablespoons
- Fish sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
- Cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Thai bird's eye chilies - 2, finely chopped
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Vegetable oil - 1 tablespoon
- Lime wedges - for serving
Steps
- Clean and gut the fish, then make a few diagonal slashes on both sides to help the marinade penetrate.
- In a bowl, combine lime juice, fish sauce, minced garlic, chopped cilantro, bird's eye chilies, salt, black pepper, and vegetable oil to create the marinade.
- Place the fish in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over it, ensuring it is well coated. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
- Preheat a grill or BBQ to medium-high heat. Oil the grill grates to prevent sticking.
- Grill the fish for about 6-8 minutes on each side, or until the fish is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
- Remove from the grill and serve immediately with lime wedges.
