Ingredients

  • White fish fillets (e.g., tilapia or cod) - 300 grams
  • Coconut flour - 50 grams
  • Eggs - 2 large
  • Fish sauce - 30 ml
  • Lime juice - 15 ml
  • Garlic cloves - 2, minced
  • Fresh cilantro - 10 grams, chopped
  • Red chili (fresh or dried) - 1, sliced (optional)
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - ½ teaspoon
  • Oil for frying (e.g., coconut or avocado oil) - 100 ml

Steps

  1. Rinse the fish fillets under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
  2. In a shallow bowl, beat the eggs and set aside. In another bowl, add the coconut flour and mix in the minced garlic.
  3. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. While the oil heats, dip each fish fillet first into the egg, then coat it with coconut flour, pressing lightly to adhere.
  4. Once the oil is hot, carefully place the coated fish fillets into the pan. Fry for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through.
  5. While the fish cooks, prepare the sauce by combining fish sauce, lime juice, chopped cilantro, and sliced chili in a small bowl.
  6. Once the fish is cooked, remove it from the pan and place it on paper towels to drain excess oil.
  7. Serve the crispy fish fillets drizzled with the prepared sauce and garnished with additional cilantro if desired.
