Ingredients
- White fish fillets (e.g., tilapia or cod) - 300 grams
- Coconut flour - 50 grams
- Eggs - 2 large
- Fish sauce - 30 ml
- Lime juice - 15 ml
- Garlic cloves - 2, minced
- Fresh cilantro - 10 grams, chopped
- Red chili (fresh or dried) - 1, sliced (optional)
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - ½ teaspoon
- Oil for frying (e.g., coconut or avocado oil) - 100 ml
Steps
- Rinse the fish fillets under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
- In a shallow bowl, beat the eggs and set aside. In another bowl, add the coconut flour and mix in the minced garlic.
- Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. While the oil heats, dip each fish fillet first into the egg, then coat it with coconut flour, pressing lightly to adhere.
- Once the oil is hot, carefully place the coated fish fillets into the pan. Fry for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through.
- While the fish cooks, prepare the sauce by combining fish sauce, lime juice, chopped cilantro, and sliced chili in a small bowl.
- Once the fish is cooked, remove it from the pan and place it on paper towels to drain excess oil.
- Serve the crispy fish fillets drizzled with the prepared sauce and garnished with additional cilantro if desired.
