Ingredients

  • Ground pork - 300 grams
  • Panang curry paste - 2 tablespoons
  • Coconut milk - 50 milliliters
  • Fish sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Brown sugar - 1 teaspoon
  • Lime juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Thai basil leaves - 10 grams, chopped
  • Cilantro - 10 grams, chopped
  • Burger buns - 2
  • Lettuce leaves - 2
  • Sliced cucumber - 50 grams
  • Sliced red onion - 50 grams

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground pork, Panang curry paste, coconut milk, fish sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, grated ginger, and chopped Thai basil. Mix until well combined.
  2. Form the mixture into two equally sized patties, about 1.5 cm thick.
  3. Preheat a grill or frying pan over medium heat. Cook the patties for about 5-6 minutes on each side or until they are cooked through and have a nice sear.
  4. While the patties are cooking, prepare the zesty sauce by mixing lime juice and chopped cilantro in a small bowl.
  5. Toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.
  6. Assemble the burgers by placing a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun, followed by the cooked patty, sliced cucumber, sliced red onion, and a drizzle of the cilantro lime sauce. Top with the other half of the bun.
  7. Serve immediately with your choice of sides.
