Ingredients
- Firm tofu - 200 grams
- Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
- Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
- Thai basil leaves - 1 cup, packed
- Green bell pepper - 1, sliced
- Red bell pepper - 1, sliced
- Baby corn - 100 grams, sliced
- Mushrooms (shiitake or button) - 100 grams, sliced
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Oyster sauce (vegetarian) - 1 tablespoon
- Chili paste - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Lime - 1, juiced
Steps
- Press the tofu to remove excess moisture, then cut it into bite-sized cubes.
- In a large skillet or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
- Add the minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add the tofu cubes and fry until golden brown on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.
- Stir in the sliced bell peppers, baby corn, and mushrooms. Cook for another 5 minutes, stirring frequently.
- Add the soy sauce, oyster sauce, chili paste, and black pepper. Mix well to coat the vegetables and tofu.
- Fold in the Thai basil leaves and allow them to wilt, about 1 minute.
- Remove from heat, drizzle with lime juice, and serve hot with steamed rice or noodles.
