Ingredients

  • Beef sirloin - 300 grams
  • Panaeng curry paste - 2 tablespoons
  • Coconut milk - 100 ml
  • Fish sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Brown sugar - 1 teaspoon
  • Lime juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Thai basil leaves - a handful
  • Vegetable oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Pepper - to taste

Steps

  1. Slice the beef sirloin into thin strips, about 1 cm thick.
  2. In a bowl, mix the panaeng curry paste, coconut milk, fish sauce, brown sugar, and lime juice to create a marinade.
  3. Add the beef strips to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  4. Preheat your grill or BBQ to medium-high heat.
  5. Thread the marinated beef onto skewers, leaving a little space between each piece.
  6. Brush the grill with vegetable oil to prevent sticking and place the skewers on the grill.
  7. Grill the beef for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until fully cooked and slightly charred.
  8. While the beef is grilling, heat any remaining marinade in a saucepan over low heat until warmed through.
  9. Once the beef is cooked, remove it from the grill and let it rest for a few minutes.
  10. Serve the grilled beef with the warmed panaeng sauce drizzled over the top and garnish with fresh Thai basil leaves.
