Ingredients

  • Beef sirloin - 400 grams
  • Garlic - 4 cloves
  • Cilantro stems - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Fish sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Brown sugar - 1 tablespoon
  • Lime juice - 2 tablespoons
  • Red chili flakes - 1 teaspoon
  • Vegetable oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Cucumber - 1, sliced (for garnish)
  • Cherry tomatoes - 100 grams, halved (for garnish)

Steps

  1. In a bowl, mix minced garlic, chopped cilantro stems, soy sauce, fish sauce, brown sugar, lime juice, and red chili flakes to create the marinade.
  2. Slice the beef sirloin into thin strips and add it to the marinade. Ensure all pieces are well coated and marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  3. Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat and brush with vegetable oil.
  4. Remove the beef from the marinade and grill for about 5-7 minutes on each side or until cooked to your desired doneness.
  5. While the beef is grilling, prepare the dipping sauce by mixing any remaining marinade with a little extra lime juice and chili flakes.
  6. Once cooked, remove the beef from the grill and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing it into bite-sized pieces.
  7. Serve the grilled beef with the dipping sauce, garnished with sliced cucumber and cherry tomatoes.
