Ingredients

  • Beef sirloin - 300 grams
  • Jasmine rice - 150 grams
  • Garlic - 2 cloves
  • Onion - 1 medium
  • Egg - 1 large
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Oyster sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Fish sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Black pepper - 1 teaspoon
  • Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Coriander leaves - 20 grams
  • Lime - 1, cut into wedges
  • Cucumber - 1, sliced
  • Chili flakes - 1 teaspoon (optional)

Steps

  1. Start by marinating the beef sirloin in soy sauce, oyster sauce, fish sauce, and black pepper for at least 15 minutes.
  2. While the beef is marinating, cook the jasmine rice according to package instructions and set it aside to cool.
  3. In a pan, heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil over medium heat and sauté minced garlic and chopped onion until fragrant.
  4. Add the cooked jasmine rice to the pan, stir well, and create a well in the center.
  5. Crack the egg into the well and scramble it until fully cooked before mixing it into the rice.
  6. Remove the rice from the pan and set it aside.
  7. In the same pan, add another tablespoon of vegetable oil and increase the heat to high.
  8. Grill the marinated beef for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until it reaches your desired doneness.
  9. Once cooked, let the beef rest for a few minutes before slicing it thinly.
  10. To serve, plate the fried rice and top it with sliced beef. Garnish with coriander leaves, cucumber slices, and lime wedges.
  11. Sprinkle chili flakes on top if desired for extra heat.
