Ingredients

  • Beef sirloin - 300 grams
  • Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
  • Thai fish sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Brown sugar - 1 tablespoon
  • Lime juice - 2 tablespoons
  • Ground black pepper - 1 teaspoon
  • Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Cumin powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Vegetable oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Skewers - 4 (if using wooden skewers, soak in water for 30 minutes)

Steps

  1. Cut the beef sirloin into bite-sized pieces, approximately 2.5 cm cubes.
  2. In a bowl, combine minced garlic, fish sauce, soy sauce, brown sugar, lime juice, black pepper, coriander powder, cumin powder, and vegetable oil to create a marinade.
  3. Add the beef pieces to the marinade, ensuring each piece is well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 15 minutes, or up to 2 hours for more flavor.
  4. Preheat your grill or BBQ to medium-high heat.
  5. Thread the marinated beef onto the skewers, leaving a little space between each piece.
  6. Place the skewers on the grill and cook for about 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until the beef is cooked to your desired doneness.
  7. Remove from the grill and let the skewers rest for a few minutes before serving.
