Ingredients

  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Shallots - 2, thinly sliced
  • Cilantro - 30 grams, chopped
  • Mint leaves - 30 grams, chopped
  • Peanuts - 30 grams, crushed
  • Vegetable oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Water - 1 liter

Steps

  1. Bring 1 liter of water to a boil in a large pot. Add the rice noodles and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 4-6 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a bowl, combine lime juice, fish sauce, and chili flakes, then set aside for the dressing.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the minced garlic and sliced shallots, sautéing until fragrant and golden, about 2-3 minutes.
  4. Add the sliced beef sirloin to the skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes, stirring until the beef is browned and cooked through.
  5. Remove the skillet from heat and add the cooked noodles, the lime dressing, chopped cilantro, and mint leaves. Toss everything together until well combined.
  6. Serve the Nam Tok Noodle topped with crushed peanuts for an added crunch.
