  • Chili flakes - 1 teaspoon
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Fresh cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Green onion - 2 stalks, chopped
  • Cooked jasmine rice - 150 grams (for serving)
  • Peanut oil - 1 tablespoon (for grilling)
  • Salt - to taste

Steps

  1. Preheat the grill or a grill pan over medium-high heat.
  2. Clean the Portobello and Shiitake mushrooms, then slice them into thick pieces.
  3. In a bowl, mix lime juice, soy sauce, chili flakes, minced garlic, and salt to create the marinade.
  4. Add the sliced mushrooms to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Let them marinate for at least 10 minutes.
  5. Drizzle peanut oil on the grill or grill pan. Once hot, add the marinated mushrooms.
  6. Grill the mushrooms for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until they are tender and have nice grill marks.
  7. Remove the mushrooms from the grill and let them cool slightly. Chop them into bite-sized pieces.
  8. In a serving bowl, combine the grilled mushrooms with chopped cilantro and green onion.
  9. Serve the Nam Tok Mushroom warm, alongside cooked jasmine rice.
