Ingredients

  • Pork shoulder - 300 grams
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Oyster sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Honey - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
  • Black pepper - 1 teaspoon
  • Cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Cooked jasmine rice - 2 cups
  • Egg - 1, beaten
  • Vegetable oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Green onions - 2, sliced
  • Carrot - 1 small, diced
  • Peas - 1/2 cup
  • Lime - 1, cut into wedges

Steps

  1. In a bowl, combine soy sauce, oyster sauce, honey, minced garlic, black pepper, and chopped cilantro to create the marinade.
  2. Cut the pork shoulder into thin strips and marinate in the sauce for at least 15 minutes.
  3. While the pork is marinating, heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large pan over medium heat.
  4. Add diced carrots and peas to the pan, sautéing for about 3 minutes until tender.
  5. Push the vegetables to one side of the pan, pour in the beaten egg on the other side, and scramble until cooked.
  6. Add the cooked jasmine rice to the pan, mixing everything together and seasoning with a bit of salt if desired. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until heated through.
  7. Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Grill the marinated pork strips for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until cooked through and slightly charred.
  8. Serve the grilled pork over the fried rice, garnished with sliced green onions and lime wedges on the side.
