- Oyster sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Sugar - 1 teaspoon
- Fresh Thai basil leaves - 50 grams
- Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
- Cooked jasmine rice - 2 cups (for serving)
- Fried egg - 2 (optional, for serving)
Steps
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
- Add the minced garlic and chopped shallot, stirring for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add the ground pork to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula and cooking until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
- Stir in the chopped bird's eye chili, soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sugar, cooking for another 2-3 minutes until well combined.
- Remove the skillet from the heat and fold in the fresh Thai basil leaves until just wilted.
- Serve the Moo Pad Krapow over cooked jasmine rice and top with a fried egg if desired.
