Ingredients
- Pork belly - 400 grams
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Fish sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Brown sugar - 1 tablespoon
- Garlic - 4 cloves, minced
- Black pepper - 1 teaspoon
- Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
- Cumin powder - 1 teaspoon
- Lime juice - 1 tablespoon
- Vegetable oil - 1 tablespoon
- Fresh cilantro - for garnish
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, fish sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, black pepper, coriander powder, cumin powder, and lime juice to create a marinade.
- Cut the pork belly into 2cm thick strips and add them to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, preferably 2 hours.
- Preheat your grill or BBQ to medium-high heat.
- Remove the pork from the marinade and pat it dry with paper towels to ensure crispy skin when cooked.
- Brush the grill with vegetable oil to prevent sticking, then place the pork belly strips on the grill.
- Grill the pork belly for about 15-20 minutes, turning occasionally, until the skin is crispy and the meat is cooked through.
- Once done, remove the pork from the grill and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing into bite-sized pieces.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve with steamed jasmine rice or a fresh salad.
