Ingredients

  • Ground lamb - 300 grams
  • Massaman curry paste - 2 tablespoons
  • Fish sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Brown sugar - 1 teaspoon
  • Lime juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Fresh cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Burger buns - 2 pieces
  • Cucumber - 1 small, thinly sliced
  • Red onion - 1/4, thinly sliced
  • Mayonnaise - 2 tablespoons
  • Peanuts - 2 tablespoons, crushed (optional)

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine ground lamb, Massaman curry paste, fish sauce, brown sugar, lime juice, minced garlic, chopped cilantro, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
  2. Form the lamb mixture into two equal-sized patties.
  3. Preheat a grill or a skillet over medium-high heat and lightly grease it.
  4. Cook the patties for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until they reach an internal temperature of 70°C (160°F).
  5. While the burgers are cooking, prepare the cucumber salad by tossing the sliced cucumber and red onion together in a bowl.
  6. Spread mayonnaise on the burger buns and place the cooked lamb patties on the bottom halves.
  7. Top each patty with the cucumber salad and, if desired, sprinkle with crushed peanuts.
  8. Cover with the top halves of the buns and serve immediately.
