- Ground lamb - 300 grams
- Massaman curry paste - 2 tablespoons
- Fish sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Brown sugar - 1 teaspoon
- Lime juice - 1 tablespoon
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Fresh cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Burger buns - 2 pieces
- Cucumber - 1 small, thinly sliced
- Red onion - 1/4, thinly sliced
- Mayonnaise - 2 tablespoons
- Peanuts - 2 tablespoons, crushed (optional)
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine ground lamb, Massaman curry paste, fish sauce, brown sugar, lime juice, minced garlic, chopped cilantro, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Form the lamb mixture into two equal-sized patties.
- Preheat a grill or a skillet over medium-high heat and lightly grease it.
- Cook the patties for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until they reach an internal temperature of 70°C (160°F).
- While the burgers are cooking, prepare the cucumber salad by tossing the sliced cucumber and red onion together in a bowl.
- Spread mayonnaise on the burger buns and place the cooked lamb patties on the bottom halves.
- Top each patty with the cucumber salad and, if desired, sprinkle with crushed peanuts.
- Cover with the top halves of the buns and serve immediately.
