Ingredients
- tempeh - 200 grams
- lemongrass - 2 stalks, finely chopped
- soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- lime juice - 1 tablespoon
- brown sugar - 1 tablespoon
- garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
- coconut oil - 1 tablespoon
- black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- fresh cilantro - for garnish
Steps
- Start by preparing the marinade: In a bowl, combine the finely chopped lemongrass, soy sauce, lime juice, brown sugar, minced garlic, grated ginger, coconut oil, and black pepper. Mix well until the sugar is dissolved.
- Slice the tempeh into 1 cm thick slabs and add them to the marinade, ensuring each piece is well coated. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes, or up to 1 hour in the refrigerator for more flavor.
- Preheat your grill or grill pan over medium heat. Once hot, place the marinated tempeh slices on the grill.
- Grill the tempeh for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and slightly charred.
- Remove the tempeh from the grill and let it rest for a couple of minutes before serving.
- Serve the grilled tempeh garnished with fresh cilantro and a wedge of lime on the side.
