Ingredients

  • Ground chicken - 250 grams
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Shallots - 2, finely chopped
  • Lime juice - 2 tablespoons
  • Fish sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Chili flakes - 1 teaspoon
  • Fresh mint - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Fresh cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Sugar - 1 teaspoon
  • Burger buns - 2
  • Lettuce leaves - 2
  • Cucumber - 1, thinly sliced
  • Carrot - 1, grated
  • Peanut butter - 1 tablespoon
  • Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, minced garlic, shallots, lime juice, fish sauce, chili flakes, sugar, mint, and cilantro. Mix well to combine.
  2. Form the chicken mixture into two patties.
  3. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Cook the patties for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked and golden brown.
  4. While the patties are cooking, prepare the slaw by mixing the grated carrot, cucumber slices, and a pinch of salt in a bowl.
  5. In a small bowl, whisk together the peanut butter, soy sauce, and sesame oil to create the sauce.
  6. To assemble the burgers, place a lettuce leaf on each bun, add the cooked chicken patty, top with slaw, and drizzle with the peanut sauce.
  7. Close the burgers with the top bun and serve immediately.
