Ingredients

  • Ground chicken - 250 grams
  • Shallots - 2, finely sliced
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Lime juice - 3 tablespoons
  • Fish sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Chili flakes - 1 teaspoon (adjust to taste)
  • Fresh mint leaves - 1/4 cup, chopped
  • Fresh cilantro - 1/4 cup, chopped
  • Green onions - 2, sliced
  • Lettuce leaves - 4, for serving

Steps

  1. In a non-stick pan over medium heat, add the ground chicken and cook until browned and fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes.
  2. Add the minced garlic and sliced shallots to the pan, and sauté for another 2-3 minutes until fragrant.
  3. Remove the pan from heat and let the chicken mixture cool slightly.
  4. In a mixing bowl, combine the lime juice, fish sauce, and chili flakes. Stir well.
  5. Add the cooked chicken mixture to the bowl with the dressing, and toss to combine.
  6. Fold in the chopped mint, cilantro, and green onions until evenly mixed.
  7. Serve the larb gai in lettuce leaves, using them as wraps.
