- Ground turkey or chicken - 250 grams
- Shallots - 2, minced

- Fish sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Chili flakes - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Burger buns (dairy-free) - 2
- Lettuce leaves - 2, for serving
- Cucumber - 1/2, thinly sliced
- Tomato - 1, sliced
- Red chili - 1, sliced (optional for garnish)
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey or chicken, minced shallots, garlic, chopped mint, chopped cilantro, lime juice, fish sauce, chili flakes, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are integrated.
- Form the mixture into 2 equal-sized patties.
- Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add a splash of oil. Cook the patties for about 5-6 minutes on each side or until they are cooked through and golden brown.
- While the patties are cooking, prepare the burger buns by toasting them lightly on another skillet or under a broiler.
- Assemble the burgers by placing a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each toasted bun, followed by the cooked patty, cucumber slices, and tomato slices. Top with red chili slices if desired.
- Serve immediately with lime wedges on the side.
