  • Ginger, sliced - 1 tablespoon
  • Shallots, sliced - 2 medium
  • Fish sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Lime juice - 2 tablespoons
  • Fresh cilantro, chopped - 2 tablespoons
  • Green onions, chopped - 2 tablespoons
  • Salt - to taste
  • Pepper - to taste

Steps

  1. In a large pot, bring 1 liter of water to a boil.
  2. Add minced garlic, sliced ginger, and shallots to the boiling water.
  3. Reduce the heat to medium and let the mixture simmer for about 10 minutes to allow the flavors to develop.
  4. Add the fish fillets to the pot and cook for 5-7 minutes until the fish is cooked through and flakes easily.
  5. Stir in the fish sauce and lime juice, adjusting the seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Remove the pot from heat and gently stir in the chopped cilantro and green onions.
  7. Serve hot in bowls, garnished with additional cilantro and lime wedges if desired.
