Ingredients

  • Sticky rice - 200 grams
  • Pork tenderloin (kosher) - 200 grams
  • Soy sauce (kosher) - 2 tablespoons
  • Brown sugar - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic, minced - 2 cloves
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Cilantro, chopped - 2 tablespoons
  • Cucumber, sliced - 1 small
  • Lime wedges - 2
  • Water - 300 milliliters

Steps

  1. Rinse the sticky rice under cold water until the water runs clear, then soak it in water for at least 30 minutes.
  2. In a bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, black pepper, and sesame oil. Cut the pork into thin slices and marinate it in the mixture for at least 15 minutes.
  3. Drain the soaked sticky rice and steam it in a bamboo or metal steamer over boiling water for about 20-25 minutes until fully cooked and sticky.
  4. While the rice is steaming, heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Remove the pork from the marinade and cook it in the skillet for about 5-7 minutes until browned and cooked through.
  5. Once the sticky rice is cooked, fluff it with a fork and divide it into two bowls. Top each bowl with the cooked pork slices.
  6. Garnish with chopped cilantro and serve with cucumber slices and lime wedges on the side.
