Ingredients
- Sticky rice - 200 grams
- Coconut milk - 200 ml
- Sugar - 50 grams
- Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
- Ripe mango - 1 medium, sliced
- Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon, toasted
Steps
- Rinse the sticky rice under cold water until the water runs clear, then soak it in water for at least 4 hours or overnight.
- Drain the soaked rice and place it in a steamer lined with cheesecloth or parchment paper. Steam the rice for about 25-30 minutes, or until tender and sticky.
- While the rice is steaming, combine the coconut milk, sugar, and salt in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir until the sugar has dissolved but do not bring it to a boil.
- Once the rice is cooked, transfer it to a mixing bowl and pour about 150 ml of the coconut sauce over it. Mix gently to combine and let it sit for about 10 minutes to absorb the flavors.
- To serve, portion the sticky rice onto plates, drizzle with the remaining coconut sauce, and top with fresh mango slices. Sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds for added texture.
