Ingredients
- Sticky rice - 200 grams
- Coconut milk - 200 milliliters
- Sugar - 30 grams
- Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
- Fresh mango - 1 medium, sliced
- Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon, toasted
- Banana - 1 medium, sliced
- Pandan leaves - 1-2 leaves (optional, for aroma)
Steps
- Rinse the sticky rice under cold water until the water runs clear, then soak it in water for at least 4 hours or overnight.
- Drain the soaked sticky rice and place it in a steamer lined with pandan leaves (if using).
- Steam the sticky rice for about 30 minutes, or until fully cooked and tender.
- In a small saucepan, combine the coconut milk, sugar, and salt. Heat over low heat until the sugar dissolves and the mixture is warm (do not boil).
- Once the sticky rice is cooked, transfer it to a large bowl and mix in half of the warm coconut milk mixture, stirring well to combine.
- Let the sticky rice sit for 5-10 minutes to absorb the coconut milk flavor.
- To serve, place a portion of the sticky rice on a plate, drizzle with the remaining coconut milk, and top with sliced mango and banana.
- Sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds for added texture and flavor.
