  • Chicken thighs, boneless - 300 grams
  • Soy sauce (kosher) - 2 tablespoons
  • Honey - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic, minced - 2 cloves
  • Cilantro, chopped - 2 tablespoons
  • Lime juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Vegetable oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Cucumber, sliced - 1/2 for garnish
  • Chili sauce (kosher) - for serving

Steps

  1. Soak the sticky rice in water for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  2. In a bowl, combine soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, black pepper, and salt to create a marinade.
  3. Add the chicken thighs to the marinade, mixing well, and let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  4. Drain the soaked sticky rice and steam it in a bamboo or metal steamer for about 30 minutes until tender.
  5. While the rice is steaming, preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
  6. Remove the chicken from the marinade and drizzle with vegetable oil before placing it on the grill.
  7. Grill the chicken for about 6-7 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked and golden brown.
  8. Once the chicken is cooked, let it rest for a few minutes before slicing.
  9. Serve the grilled chicken over the sticky rice, garnished with cilantro and cucumber slices, with chili sauce on the side.
